Fundraiser: HUGE Success!
Community Bank’s first annual “What are you grateful
for?” campaign, benefiting Meals-on-Wheels, was a huge success.
The campaign raised $5,960 for Johnson County homebound residents.
Nearly 1,200 local children, 483 in Cleburne and 709 in Burleson,
participated by submitting drawings, poems, or stories telling what
they were thankful for. For each entry, Community Bank donated $5
to Meals-on-Wheels.
“This
campaign began as a way to encourage children to think about the
blessings in their lives and help remind adults what the Holiday
Season is truly about,” stated Lizz Pulliam of Community Bank.
A total of 40 advertisements were placed in Community Bank’s
combined markets to promote participation in the campaign. These
markets include Johnson, Hood, Rockwall, and Tarrant Counties. Flyers
were also distributed at each branch locations, as well as personal
bankers taking flyers to local schools. Submissions were taken November
1 through December 3, 2004.
“As a first year campaign, we were unsure what kind of response
this would elicit. As you can see, it was an overwhelming success!”
Pulliam added. Community Bank has been a valued partner with Meals-on-Wheels
in its commitment to support Meals-on-Wheels programs, as well as,
their annual sponsorship of the Meals-on-Wheels Golf Benefit. Community
Bank has been the title sponsor for the event the past four years.
“It is wonderful that people in the business community, such
as Community Bank, want to help us help those less fortunate. For
those who support us, they are not only helping to feed the hungry,
but bring hope, dignity, and independence to the homebound,”
said Amy Jackson, Director of Development.
In the other markets, Community Bank donated the following:
