The date for the 18th Annual Meals-on-Wheels Golf Benefit has been set. The event will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2005 at the Cleburne Municipal Golf Course with tee times at 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

“Please mark your calendars for this event. It is the largest event for our organization raising monies and bringing awareness about our services to the community,” said Vinsen Faris, Meals-on-Wheels Executive Director.

“We are aware that there are many events in the community, and we wanted to announce our date early before calendars became full,” added Faris.

In addition, Meals-on-Wheels has had a financially challenging year with a decrease in state funding as the needs have increased. Therefore, Faris commented: “This year’s event will be more important than ever to continue serving the needy elderly in our communities.”
