Meals-on-Wheels Hosts VIP luncheon

February 1, 2007 - Meals-on-Wheels of Johnson & Ellis Counties hosted its quarterly "VIP Luncheon" on Tuesday, January 30 at the Brown Street Cafe in Ennis. The event was attended by elected officials, community volunteers, and prominent business men and women. Over 20 were in attendance.

The Meals-on-Wheels Ellis County Advisory Council is hosting these events quarterly to better inform the community about the growing needs of Meals-on-Wheels services. The luncheons are held in each of the communities that Meals-on-Wheels serves.

Currently, Meals-on-Wheels serves 80 recipients in Ennis on a daily basis. There are over 50 people waiting for meals at this time due to the shortages of volunteers and routes.
