| Meals-on-Wheels Names New Volunteer Coordinator
November 5, 2008 - Whitney Patterson has been named the new Johnson County Volunteer Coordinator for Meals-on-Wheels of Johnson & Ellis Counties, joining the Meals-on-Wheels team on October 3. Her previous professional experience has been in coordinating volunteers for the Literacy Council of Tyler, and working with student volunteers on the University of Texas at Tyler campus.
"I am so excited to be a part of the Meals-on-Wheels team, and I look forward to working with an organization that has such passion for the homebound. I am also looking forward to working with all of the dedicated volunteers that make the work of Meals-on-Wheels possible", said Ms. Patterson.
In announcing the appointment, Amy Jackson, director of development, stated, "This is an exciting time for Meals-on-Wheels as we continue we meet the needs of the growing number of elderly and disabled residents throughout the county. We’re very pleased that Whitney has joined us to help us better serve the community. Her past experiences are a good match with our organization, and we believe she has the knowledge and commitment to further promote the growth of Meals-on-Wheels."
Ms. Patterson resides near Cresson with her husband where they recently relocated from Tyler. She received a degree in Political Science from the University of Texas at Tyler in 2006. Ms. Patterson enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with friends and family in her free time.
